Campout Process

The North Star Campout is a longstanding annual tradition. It provides an opportunity for us to step away from our hectic lives and reconnect with nature, our faith, and each other as we gather our families for a fun-filled weekend under the stars.

Here are all the steps in the process that get us all to this fun-filled weekend in May!

1

Signup

All families wishing to attend the campout must sign up in order to attend, including:

  • Families entering the lottery for a cabin, tent, or RV spot

  • Day campers (attending campout events, but staying off-site)

  • Festival auction campout priority spot winner (cabin or RV)

  • Campout Mass drawing winner

  • 8th-grade families interested in priority selection

2

Lottery

After the signup period ends, lottery entrants (families interested in a cabin, tent, or RV spot) are selected at random to determine their timeslot on the selection day schedule.

3

Selection Schedule

Once time slots are determined, the selection schedule is posted, and families with time slots are notified. This schedule will show your time slot for either the 8th-grade priority selection day or the general population selection day.

Families with timeslots join Zoom at their assigned time on selection day to choose their campout accommodation.

4

Selection Day

On selection day, families with time slots join Zoom at their assigned time slot and choose their accommodations.

  • 8th-Grade selection: Friday, March 20, 2026

  • General Selection: Saturday, March 21, 2026

Mark your calendar! If unavailable that day, a proxy may select on your behalf at your assigned time.

5

Event Registration & Attendee Fees

Everyone in your family attending the campout (including babies and toddlers) must register and pay the event fee. Anyone who is not registered will not be allowed on-site.

6

Camper Agreement & Release Waiver

All adults attending the campout are required to sign the Camper Agreement and Release waiver before finalizing registration and reservation.

7

Accommodations Payment

Once the waivers are signed by all adults, event registration is complete, and attendee fees are paid, your information will be sent to El Capitan or Sunland RV, who will contact you to arrange payment for your accommodations. Failure to pay for your accommodations will result in forfeiture of your spot.
